Currently, Mr. Carroll is responsible for the Strategic direction, Architecture and Product Development of Cisco's Carrier Core L2/L3 Products, which include the CRS, GSR, MGX and Gateway products. He has spent the past three years in his current role and previous 15 years in Development and Marketing in both the Enterprise and Service Provider Markets.

Mr. Carroll holds several patents in FR/ATM and Network Management and holds degrees in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Literature and Computer Science.

Mr. Carroll currently sits on the board of the Multi-Service Forum (MSF), TSA and has participates in the ITU, ATIS and IETF forums.
