Wayne Cutler
MSF CTO and TC Chairperson

An independent consultant with over 25 years experience in the telecoms industry. Formerly held posts at Ericsson & Marconi as a System Designer and Standards Engineer. At Marconi, Wayne worked on the System-X narrowband switch with particular interest in signaling inter-working, feature interaction and call control software architectures, before moving into the design team overseeing Marconi’s Softswitch product focusing on S/W Architecture issues and signaling standards conformance (MGCP, H323, SIP, SIP-I, H248, Sigtran etc). At Ericsson, Wayne was responsible for co-ordinating standards activities for H248 across the various SDOs and liaising with the internal development teams. Wayne has attended ETSI TISPAN focusing on H248 and IMS/IMS-PES issues and been the rapporteur for a number of standards. Wayne has attended the MSF since its inception and has been heavily involved in all aspects of its activities and has been the chair of the MSF’s Technical Committee since 2008.

Wayne is a member of the IET (MIET), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and holds an honours degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol, England.
